The Healing Power of Forgiveness in Friendships.

Image
In the intricate tapestry of human relationships, friendships stand out as unique threads woven together by shared experiences, laughter, and sometimes, conflicts. Friendships are not immune to misunderstandings, disagreements, or hurt feelings. However, what often distinguishes enduring friendships from fleeting connections is the ability to forgive and move forward together. In my personal experience, I have had both the sweet and bitter taste of upholding this virtue, and one of the things that I can say is I have learnt that no matter what the circumstances are, forgiveness helps me more than it does the other person. Whether it is acknowledged or taken for granted, I have trained my heart to do it regardless, for my own welfare and peace of mind. Friendships, like any relationship, are always susceptible to strain. Miscommunications, differing opinions, or personal shortcomings can lead to rifts between friends. However, these fractures if left unaddressed, can widen and thr

The Quintessence of Friendship.

Friendship, an age-old bond that transcends time and circumstance, holds a profound significance in the tapestry of our lives. It is a relationship that enriches our existence, offering solace in times of adversity and joy in moments of celebration. As we continue to delve into the depths of this cherished connection, today I would like to uncover a layer of understanding that illuminates the very essence of what it means to be a friend and to have a friend. One day the wife of a man from the guild of prophets called out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead. You well know what a good man he was, devoted to God. And now the man to whom he was in debt is on his way to collect by taking my two children as slaves.” Elisha said, “I wonder how I can be of help. Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Nothing,” she said. “Well, I do have a little oil.” “Here’s what you do,” said Elisha. “Go up and down the street and borrow jugs and bowls from all your neighbors. And not just a fe

The Bigger Picture.

In the hustle and bustle of modern life, our friendships often take a backseat to work obligations, family responsibilities, and other commitments. However, what if we approached our friendships with the same level of intentionality and purpose that we apply to other areas of our lives? Being deliberate and intentional about our friendships means recognizing their profound impact on our well-being and actively investing in nurturing and cultivating them. While it is true that so much goes on during the process of building and sustaining our friendships, we must never forget the importance of valuing certain things above others. Life has a way of making certain things insignificant when we learn to look through the lens of 'The Bigger Picture'. The devil knows the value relationships add to our lives, both now and in the future. It is important to always be careful how we handle conflicts and misunderstandings in our friendships because sometimes, the devil knows how importa

Give Grace.

Image
Dearest friends, I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I would like to wish you a happy and fruitful new month filled with Love, Beauty, and Peace. During the early days of last month, I shared a video with a few people in my reach via my social media platforms, and I was talking about the virtue of giving and extending grace to the people around us. The Bible in Romans 14:1- 4 says, “Welcome with open arms fellow believers who do not see things the way you do. And do not jump all over them every time they do or say something you do not agree with—even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department. Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. For instance, a person who has been around for a while might well be convinced that he can eat anything on the table, while another, with a different background, might assume he should only be a vegetarian and eat accordingly. But since both are guests at Christ’s

A Fresh Start!

Image
The year usually ends with many minds juggling thoughts of progress, a fresh start, resolutions and the like. Many of us make plans for the next year and season and are usually enthusiastic about making a change. But as the year progresses, we start to lose focus sometimes and the initial enthusiasm has likely faded, and we fall back into old habits—our inspiring goals unmet. But the problem isn’t usually a lack of motivation; I have come to realize that the goals we set aren't grounded in a deeper understanding of our true selves. Many of us tend to define success and contentment according to external markers rather than our authentic core. We usually seek transformation abstractly rather than doing the inner work necessary to unlock lasting change and that’s how we end up having half-baked results. In the process of transformation and positive change, what matters most is self-knowledge. Comprehensive personal development addresses all aspects of life holistically, not

The Year of Extra-Ordinary Resurrections!

Image
At the beginning of every year, most spiritual entities, businesses, and organizations are led to have themes that later become a guiding light through the progression of the year. The message that God spoke to us at my church as the year 2023 began was that God would deliberately cause extra ordinary resurrections to happen in many aspects of our lives. One of the statements that were a 'take home' for me was that for some, certain things would first die, for God to raise them right, because may be just may be, their foundation was wrong. I am not exactly sure if the biggest percentage of the people listening that night utterly understood what God was about to take our lives through, I surely wonder! For me as an individual, the year began in an interesting way; firstly, I had an attack on my voice and was not able to sing and talk as normally as I used to. What started as a voice overuse, ended up as a major infirmity resulting from the effects of acid reflux caused by ac

Evolve!

Image
Imagine a world where caterpillars never transformed into butterflies, where tadpoles never became frogs, and where individuals never evolved into their better selves. In this article, we explore the incredible journey of personal evolution, from stagnant waters to soaring heights, and discover the transformative power that lies within us all. To evolve in life means to undergo a process of personal growth, development, and transformation. This concept is often associated with becoming a better or more advanced version of oneself, both in terms of personal characteristics and life circumstances. It would be such a disappointment to go through this one life without ever reaching your full potential as an individual. This season, I want to implore you to strongly desire to evolve. Refuse to end this year and this season the same. The decision to change always lies within, and God gives grace for the process. While for some, evolving happens to them as a 'by the way', it pay
